STREEPSHOW!, written by Jay Stull, and directed by Andrew Neisler for The Tank's Save & Print series opens at the Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street, between Avenues A & B). STREEPSHOW! is the true story of 14 characters once played by Meryl Streep, picked to live in a house, and have their lives filmed to find out what happens when people stop being, oh I don't know, direct and start getting, well, breathy. Marking the 20th anniversary of its explosive British debut, Enda Walsh's Disco Pigs comes to Trafalgar Studios starring Evanna Lynch (Harry Potter; My Name is Emily) and Colin Campbell (Dublin by Lamplight; Through A Glass Darkly), running 12th July - 19th August 2017 with an opening slated for 18th July. Just last night, The Public Theater celebrated its Annual Gala, HAIR TO HAMILTON, 50 Years of Revolutionary Musicals, at the Delacorte Theater. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, with musical direction by Rob Fisher and Nadia DiGiallonardo, the 90-minute concert featured songs from The Public's most beloved and groundbreaking musicals performed by some of the most celebrated voices in theater. The Royal Shakespeare Company's Rome MMXVII Season of four Shakespeare plays will play in select movie houses across North America, directly from Shakespeare's home town, Stratford-upon-Avon, England. The productions are filmed for 'Live from Stratford-upon-Avon,' the RSC program that screens the world's greatest classical theatre company around the world through a continued partnership with Trafalgar Releasing (formerly Picturehouse Entertainment).
