Spoleto Festival USA 2010 came to a close on Sunday with strong attendance at the Festival Finale at Middleton Place. Despite temperatures soaring in the upper 90s, more than 3,000 people attended the annual event, which featured a Carolina Chocolate Drops concert followed by fireworks over the historic Ashley River plantation.

First time Vail Jazz Festival attendees can stay 3 nights at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort, the host hotel for the Festival; 2 nights are absolutely free. Blyth Festival Artistic Director Eric Coates has announced major casting for the 2010 summer season. This year's acting company includes a number of past Blythe Festival actors, as well as new. The Blyth Festival summer season runs June 23 to September 4, 2010.

Mordine & Company Dance Theater and Natya Dance Theatre, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, present ENCOUNTERING THE OTHER at Chicago DCA's Storefront Theater July 29 through August 1st. The performance is co-created by leading choreographers Shirley Mordine and Hema Rajagopalan.

About Towns Tours' 'ComeSolveIt-Charlotte Players' presents I LOATHE A PARADE July 9 at 8pm as part of its monthly Interactive Murder Mystery Shows. The show, which will play at Story-Slam Charlotte, has a 4th of July theme and audience members will become investigators and help the Detective figure out who did it!

Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival and the Irish Film Institute have joined forces to bring NT Live to Dublin. On June 28th at 6:45PM, the IFI will feature live via satellite the National Theatre's production of Irish playwright Dion Boucicault's LONDON ASSURANCE, starring Fiona Shaw and Simon Russell Beale, in the fourth screening at the IFI from the NT Live series. NT Live is an initiative to broadcast live performances of National Theatre plays onto cinema screens around the world.

In a last-minute substitution, David Makhateli, a principal dancer with London's Royal Ballet, will step into the role of Albrecht in the National Ballet of Georgia's upcoming production of GISELLE at Spoleto Festival USA. Makhateli replaces Irakli Bakhtadze and Davit Karapetyan, both of whom recently sustained injuries while dancing. Makhateli will dance the demanding role in the matinee performances on June 12 and 13 at Charleston's Gaillard Auditorium.

The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) will unveil six new sculptures-on-loan at the award-winning E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park on June 23, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Artists will be on hand to answer questions about their pieces during a walking tour after the ceremony. The sculptures will remain in the park through May of 2011. The park is located at 11801 Community Center Drive; one-half mile south of 120th Avenue and Grant St. in Northglenn.
