NT Live Hits Dublin; Broadcasts Beale & Shaw-Led LONDON ASSURANCE, 6/28June 14, 2010Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival and the Irish Film Institute have joined forces to bring NT Live to Dublin. On June 28th at 6:45PM, the IFI will feature live via satellite the National Theatre's production of Irish playwright Dion Boucicault's LONDON ASSURANCE, starring Fiona Shaw and Simon Russell Beale, in the fourth screening at the IFI from the NT Live series. NT Live is an initiative to broadcast live performances of National Theatre plays onto cinema screens around the world.
Ballet Star David Makhateli Steps into GISELLE at Spoleto Festival USA, 6/12 & 6/13June 7, 2010In a last-minute substitution, David Makhateli, a principal dancer with London's Royal Ballet, will step into the role of Albrecht in the National Ballet of Georgia's upcoming production of GISELLE at Spoleto Festival USA. Makhateli replaces Irakli Bakhtadze and Davit Karapetyan, both of whom recently sustained injuries while dancing. Makhateli will dance the demanding role in the matinee performances on June 12 and 13 at Charleston's Gaillard Auditorium.
NAHF Unveils On-Loan Sculptures, 6/23June 7, 2010The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) will unveil six new sculptures-on-loan at the award-winning E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park on June 23, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Artists will be on hand to answer questions about their pieces during a walking tour after the ceremony. The sculptures will remain in the park through May of 2011. The park is located at 11801 Community Center Drive; one-half mile south of 120th Avenue and Grant St. in Northglenn.
