Beau Higgins - Page 150

Beau Higgins Currently spending his time between New York and Florida, Beau was born to a theatrical family in Brooklyn. He studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and at HB Studios. He studied theater singing with Julia Sperratore and Helen Gallagher. Beau later taught drama at the Lincoln Center Square for the Arts. It was at this time Beau began working with the Theater Development Fund and helped found New York's famed HALF PRICE TICKET BOOTH. Early in his career, Beau was screen tested and contracted for Warner Brothers. He co-hosted, an early cable variety series on Manhattan's Teleprompter channel. At this time he directed the Johnny Specca musical, SEX IS..? at the Lincoln Center Library Theater. Beau has performed Off-Broadway in FAT FELL DOWN, The Comic Strip Theater's LITTLE LULU AND THE INVISIBLE INK and WILL THE REAL ZOOPERMAN PLEASE STAND UP. Around the country he has delighted audiences with his performances in ANYTHING GOES, THE APPLE TREE, GUYS & DOLLS, and HELLZAPOPPIN! He sang for New York audiences at such cabarets as The Duplex and Upstairs at the Downstairs. He has had numerous television appearances but is most proud to have been a winning contestant on the game shows JACKPOT and THE $20,000 PYRAMID.




Asolo Rep To Expand Acclaimed Kaleidoscope Program

Asolo Rep has partnered with Community Haven, Easter Seals of Southwest Florida,Bayshore High School and the Oak Park School to expand the acclaimed Kaleidoscope program, which has for more than 15 years offered a specialized summer program of musical theatre workshops for developmentally disabled adults and teens. These partnerships are an important component of new Kaleidoscope program enhancements designed to expand services and broaden participation.

Caldwell 'Secret Order' Star Gordon McConnell Hospitalized

Well known South Florida actor Gordon McConnell was taken to hospital between the matinee and evening performance of 'Secret Order' at the Caldwell Theatre on June 10th. McConnell was performing the leading role of Dr. Bob Brock. He began to feel disoriented and the Caldwell management immediately cancelled the evening performance.

New American Theater Opens Curtain At Tampa Bay Area's Baywalk

Tampa Bay Area's new professional musical theater company, New American Theater, through a partnership with CW Capital and Ciminelli Real Estate Services, will be opening their doors at BayWalk. The theater will occupy the former Ann Taylor store and will use the space for their educational workshops and classes, rehearsals and company offices.

BABALU was a fine night at the theater. I am not positive yet if it is a revue, a nightclub act, or a Broadway musical trying to find its way. Filled with the music of Desi Arnaz, and a few others, this show is a love letter from Lucie Arnaz to her much adored father, Desi. She talks a lot about her father, sings and dances to music from his career and spends the performance as a charming host. Lucie looks beautiful, and her singing is wonderful. She appears to be having a fine time, and certainly wants the audience to have a great time.
