Beau Higgins - Page 138

Beau Higgins Currently spending his time between New York and Florida, Beau was born to a theatrical family in Brooklyn. He studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and at HB Studios. He studied theater singing with Julia Sperratore and Helen Gallagher. Beau later taught drama at the Lincoln Center Square for the Arts. It was at this time Beau began working with the Theater Development Fund and helped found New York's famed HALF PRICE TICKET BOOTH. Early in his career, Beau was screen tested and contracted for Warner Brothers. He co-hosted, an early cable variety series on Manhattan's Teleprompter channel. At this time he directed the Johnny Specca musical, SEX IS..? at the Lincoln Center Library Theater. Beau has performed Off-Broadway in FAT FELL DOWN, The Comic Strip Theater's LITTLE LULU AND THE INVISIBLE INK and WILL THE REAL ZOOPERMAN PLEASE STAND UP. Around the country he has delighted audiences with his performances in ANYTHING GOES, THE APPLE TREE, GUYS & DOLLS, and HELLZAPOPPIN! He sang for New York audiences at such cabarets as The Duplex and Upstairs at the Downstairs. He has had numerous television appearances but is most proud to have been a winning contestant on the game shows JACKPOT and THE $20,000 PYRAMID.

REACH 'A Dance Theater Collective' Presents Cabaret 2010

George Bernard Shaw's 'Candida' Opens Palm Beach Dramaworks' 11th Season

West Palm Beach's Palm Beach Dramaworks, will launch its 11th Anniversary Season with 'Candida,' the acclaimed play by the Nobel Prize winning playwright George Bernard Shaw on Friday, October 8th (8PM) at their downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard.) Special priced preview performances are slated for October 6th & 7th (8PM) and the production will play through November 21st.

Palm Beach Dramaworks Announces Casting For 2010 2011 Season

New Theatre Announces Its 25th Anniversary Season

Following its successful 2009 - 2010 Season, New Theatre kicks off its 2010-2011 season with a limited engagement of one of the Bard's romantic comedies, 'The Tempest' (September 2 - September 19, 2010) adapted and directed by guest artist John Manzelli. Stranded on a deserted island with his daughter, a usurped duke is granted his chance at revenge. By invoking a storm, he shipwrecks the man who ruined him. Also among the passengers is the young man who awakens his daughter's first stirrings of love.

'The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein' -- Tacky, Tired, Tuneless Transylvania

Mel Brooks has taken a giant tumble off the mountaintop on which he stood following the success of THE PRODUCERS. To think about it, THE PRODUCERS revealed itself not to be one of the greats as soon as Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick departed. Performers mean an awful lot in a Broadway musical. It seems the Brooks machine is willing to trade gifted star performers (they got to be stars for a reason, you know) for a more immediate return of profit. Seems to be unwise for them, and certainly not a reason for the audience to rejoice. But, on to the show.

Lake Worth Playhouse Opens 58th Season With Legendary Musical GUYS AND DOLLS

Based on Damon Runyon's short story The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown, GUYS AND DOLLS tells the story of a group of small-time gamblers and the ladies in their lives. Nathan Detroit, the organizer of the oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York, bets fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he can't make the next 'doll' he sees fall in love with him. The next 'doll' to enter happens to be the prim and proper neighborhood missionary, Miss Sarah Brown, and the stage is set for a heavy dose of high spirited entertainment set to the toe-tapping beat of Frank Loesser's superlative score.

Paul Rudnick's 'The New Century' - Auditions At The Waterfront Playhouse

The Waterfront Playhouse announces auditions for 'The New Century' by Paul Rudnick, which is part of their 2010/11 season. The auditions will be held on Thursday, October 14, 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Waterfront Playhouse. Director Rich Simone will be looking for five experienced comedic actors between the ages of 20 to 60. The play requires actors who are comfortable with the verbal demands of the script, as well as fitting the specific types of the characters. All of the roles are open and all are paid.

Palm Beach Dramaworks Announces 4th 'Master Playwright Series'

Barry Ingham has appeared on both the West End and Broadway starring in such classics as The Magistrate and Tartuffe and original productions of Aspects of Love and Jekyll & Hyde. As a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Mr. Ingham appeared in several productions including Julius Caesar, Twelfth Night, and Winter's Tale. He was professor at the University of Texas at Austin, theatre consultant to Baylor University and is artistic advisor to the Shakespeare Society of New York.

Boca Raton Theatre Guild Announces 2010 2011 Season

Orlando Shakespeare Theater Brings Mouse Lilly To The Stage

The play, for ages 5 and up, follows the story lines of three of Henkes' much loved books, Chester's Way, Julius, Baby of the World, and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. 'Lilly and her friends are charismatic personalities, and kids can easily relate to those characters and the events that occur throughout the play,' says Anne Hering, Orlando Shakes Director of Education. 'Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse focuses on lessons about family, friendship, behavior, responsibility, forgiveness, learning from mistakes, and it celebrates the power of imagination.'
