Project 891 Theatre Co proudly opens their second season with The Last Night of Ballyhoo by Alfred Uhry in the historic North Lakeside Cultural Center. Set in 1939 Atlanta with the premiere of Gone with the Wind as a backdrop, the Jewish Freitag family is forced to face how they identify with who they are and where they come from when a newcomer from New York enters their lives and illuminates the prejudices within Atlanta's Jewish community. With the circa 1910 North Lakeside Cultural Center mansion as the set, the audience has a unique opportunity to be a fly on the wall of the Freitag living room as the family members go about their lives. The intimacy of the vintage space allows for heightened drama and a sense that the audience has genuinely wandered back in time.

A world premiere screening of the Sondheim: The Birthday Concert was held at the NYIT Auditorium on November 1, 2010 and attended by cast, crew and friends. The star-studded event, Sondheim! The Birthday Concert, celebrating the 80th birthday of the Broadway and film legend Stephen Sondheim with performances of his music and songs by some of the world's biggest talents, will make its debut on PBS stations across the country on November 24th, thanks to the Emmy Award-winning producer Ellen M. Krass and multiple Tony Award-winning co-producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley in association with Thirteen/WNET and Image Entertainment. The production, which is hosted by David Hyde Pierce, will air at 9PM ET (check local listings).

BroadwayWorld has learned that Broadway favorites Kyle Dean Massey and Levi Kreis have made the list of Out magazine's annual '100 People of the Year'. Additional honorees include GLEE's Chris Colfer, and star of the stage and screen, T.R. Knight. The other 96 on the Out 100 List will be announced on November 11. A Shakespearean tragedy not seen in Buffalo in over half a century will finally see the footlights in a new production at the Road Less Traveled Theater. Road Less Traveled Productions will raise the curtain on William Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra on Friday, October 22, in a new adaptation by RLTP Resident Playwright Jon Elston. The show will run through Sunday, November 14.

THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, the provocative and wickedly witty theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon's point of view, celebrated its 200th performance at The Westside Theatre, 407 West 43rd Street, New York on November 1.

The College-Conservatory of Music CCM Musical Theatre department kicks off its Mainstage Season with Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera Evita. This vivacious show runs from November 17 preview through November 21 in CCM's Corbett Auditorium on the University of Cincinnati campus.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents its 6th annual First Look Repertory of New Work-three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory playing October 27 - November 14, 2010 in Steppenwolf's Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Wallenberg, a new musical drama starring Scott Mikita (Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera) opened this past Saturday night, October 30, at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The opening night celebration was held at Blue in White Plains. Wallenberg, which launches WPPAC's 5-show mainstage season, will run through November 21, 2010.
