Casting is complete and rehearsals have begun for The Blank Theatre Company's second production of its 19th season, Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them by Christopher Durang. Directed by The Blank's Artistic Director Daniel Henning, Why Torture is Wrong will begin preview performances on Saturday, January 30, 2010 and is set to open on Saturday, February 6 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, March 14.

Pegasus Players will kick off the New Year with its 24th Annual Young Playwrights Festival, a professional production of three winning one-act plays written by Chicago high school students. This year's production will be performed at Pegasus Players, 1145 W. Wilson Avenue in the O'Rourke Center at Truman College, Chicago, January 7-31, 2010. The official Opening Night Ceremony is Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

Hamingson) presented the New York premiere of THE LAST CARGO CULT, created and performed by Mike Daisey and directed by Jean-Michele Gregory in the Public's Newman Theater. THE LAST CARGO CULT began previews on Thursday, December 3 and will continue through Sunday, December 13.
