The opening of a new show is always an exciting time, but this year marks the 15th Anniversary of the Christmas Revels in Portland and deserves special recognition. The Portland Revels are hosting a 15th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, Dec. 5th.

Man of La Mancha, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre's second production of the season presented in association with Michael James, is a 'can't miss.' It is powerfully reimagined in a contemporary mental facility with the patients sympathetically playing the story of Don Quixote as told by Cervantes. Man of La Mancha's book is by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion and music by Mitch Leigh.

Since 1997, Twin Cities taiko ensemble Mu Daiko has journeyed through the roots of Japanese drumming toward the heart-pounding blend of theater, dance and music that it is today. Taiko Caravan celebrates that metamorphosis with a return to the Southern Theater, featuring a program of traditional favorites, original compositions and new commissions. San Jose Taiko, one of North America's oldest and most prestigious taiko ensembles, joins Mu Daiko on stage the second weekend (Dec. 4-6 only).

The Weston Friendly Society will be holding another round of auditions for their special 125th anniversary event, "The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)" by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart, on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Weston Town Hall (Townhouse Road, Weston, MA). The show is being directed by Paul Dixon and music directed by Chris Roppola.

Village Players Theatre is proud to announce it's Main stage Holiday production, 'Chad Morton's TV Christmas Miracle' which opens on December 5th, 2009 at 8:00pm. This original production is written by Jack Crowe and Jim Keating, directed by Doug Long with music arranged and composed by Keith Harrison.

With its newest production Store Trek, Princeton's famed Triangle Club boldly goes where no musical comedy has gone before to the crass crossroads of corporate greed and American consumerism. The production will run Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14 at 8pm on the Matthews stage of McCarter Theatre Center (91 University Place, Princeton).

Before Town Hall Theater closed down for renovations in 2005, the THT Gala had become an annual must-see event. The celebratory evening returns on Thursday, November 19, with the Opening Night performance of Middlebury Community Player's production of The Music Man. An elegant reception begins at 7:00 pm, followed by the show at 8:00.

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland's production of Guys and Dolls is entering it's final weekend of performances. Shows this weekend include Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 at 1:00 pm. This junior performance of this classic musical is performed by over 25 area student performers.

Blue Spruce Theatre's 'Angry Inch' (a.k.a. Hot Protestants with Emeen Z) from their production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch will be performing in two gigs this coming weekend. Friday, October 30 they will be performing at TT the Bear's in Central Square, Cambridge. The festivities starts at 9 with Emeen Z. If that weren't enough, Hot Protestants will also be performing at O'Brien's in Allston on Halloween, Saturday, October 31.

Blue Spruce Theatre announced performances of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Black Box Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Services, Inc. The show will run from November 12 through November 22. Previews begin Thursday, November 12, 2009, before the show's opening on Friday, November 13, 2009.
