Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) continues the 2009/10 Family Series with Short Shakespeare! The Comedy of Errors, a family-friendly 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's madcap comedy, directed and adapted by David H. Bell. CST's Short Shakespeare! program is designed for parents, grandparents, teachers or anyone with children in their lives to introduce young people to the timeless works of Shakespeare and the magic of live theater.

The Jewish Theatre San Francisco (TJT) in association with The Friend Center for the Arts at the JCCSF presents Wendy Wasserstein's award-winning comedy The Sisters Rosensweig from January 7 - 17, 2010 in Kanbar Hall. This will be the second year of collaboration between TJT and the JCCSF, giving both organizations the opportunity to expand their reach and serve their community.

On Thursday, November 12, at East Lynne Theater Company's only Cape May fundraising event in 2009, Robert J. LeMaire III (aka Bobby), was named the third recipient of the Historic Jackson Street Neighborhood Association Scholarship Fund (HJSNA) in the Name of Bob and Toni Green. This fund was started in the fall of 2006 with a generous $5,000.00 donation from HJSNA, in honor of the Greens, who first owned The Puffin on Jackson Street. Bob Green was at one time President of ELTC's Board, and Toni came up with the idea for 'Tales of the Victorians.' They currently live in Kentucky.

Joe Mantello's adaptation of snap-witted American essayist David Sedaris' 'The SantaLand Diaries' is a true and humorous account of Sedaris' stint working as 'Crumpet the Elf' in Macy's department store during the busy holidy season. This one-man show recounts, in inglorious detail, Sedaris' uproarious misgivings and misadventures as only he can tell them! The show is rated R.

The Random Farms Kids Theater will present the new musical 13 at The Tarrytown Music Hall, December 18-20. This will be one of the first local productions of the musical, which ran on Broadway last year and featured on all-teen cast and band.

Broadway veteran Cara Kjellman (Billy Elliot, 42nd Street) spent Saturday, December 12 mentoring the young talent of Broadway's future as she led the morning portion of a Billy Elliot master class with Broadway Artists Alliance. Kjellman was joined by fellow cast members Ruby Rakos, Chelsea Galembo, and Danika Yarosh to answer questions and speak about their experiences with Billy Elliot as well as other stage credits to a group of eager and talented young performers ages 10 to 21.

The Orange County Performing Arts Center is offering a plethora of fun events to celebrate the kick-off of the XANADU National Tour at the Center from December 15 through 27. These include roller skating on the Center's community plaza on December 19 and 20, street muralist Melanie Stimmell Van Latum creating a 225-square-foot mural inspired by XANADU, a special Talk Back with cast members on December 22 and three Kids' Night on Broadway performances - December 15, 16 and 17.

The Invisible City Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of FAULT LINES - a new play by Invisible City company member Rebecca Louise Miller inspired by the infamous Polly Klaas kidnapping that rocked the United States in the 1990's. Kirk Douglas Theatre presents the world premiere of Lisa Kron's The Wake co-produced with Berkeley Repertory Theatre and directed by Leigh Silverman. Previews begin March 21. The Wake opens March 28 and is set to run through April 18, 2010.
