The Board and Staff of Honens International Piano Competition sadly announce the passing of former Artistic Director, Andrew Raeburn, at age 77. Raeburn was administrative and artistic leader of the Honens Competition in Calgary from 1993 until his retirement in 2004.

Actress and writer Suzanne Grossmann has died, Variety reports. Grossmann died on August 19 in Lose Angeles at the age of 72. Her death was due to Chronic Obstructed Pulmonary Disorder.

The theater company 3-Legged Dog has made a settlement with its landlord, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the New York Times reports. The MTA had previously threatened 3-Legged Dog with eviction from its 80 Greenwich Street location, due to 3-Legged Dog's failure to pay over $300,000 owed to MTA.

Walt Disney Studios announced on August 24 that it would withdraw from the International Animated Film Society, the New York Times reports. Disney's withdrawal is due to discontent with the society's Annie Awards, given for achievement in animation.

Mikhail Baryshnikov will perform at an October 4 benefit beginning 'a new collaboration between the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and the Baryshnikov Arts Center,' The New York Times reports. Baryshnikov and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company will perform 'Occasion Piece2,' accompanied by Joan La Barbara and John Kelly performing music from John Cage's 'Song Books.' The film 'With Merce,' created by Charles Atlas, will also be shown.

Paul Rudd, who acted in the 1960s and 1970s, died August 10 in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Hartford Courant's Behind the Curtain Blog reports. Rudd, who was seventy years old, died of pancreatic cancer.
