CATS, the popular musical, set to open May 18 at the Lyric Theatre in Perth, Australia, will open tickets for its final week (June 7-13) on May 3. CATS has now extended to Sunday, June 13. No further extension is possible as CATS must head back to Asia.

Featuring a score composed by the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber, CATS has been seen by over 65 million people world-wide. It first opened in London in May 1981 to rave reviews and went on to win a record-breaking number of awards internationally including two Olivier Awards for ‘Musical of the Year’ and ‘Outstanding Achievement of the Year in Musicals’, and seven Tony Awards.  It holds the record for one of the longest-running musicals in West End history playing for 21 years.  In addition, CATS played 18 years on Broadway and has been presented in over twenty-six countries, in about three hundred cities, in ten languages.

The cast and crew of 53 include the classic CATS characters– Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Grizabella and Skimbleshanks.  Based on the book of poems “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” (1939) by T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the tale of a tribe of Jellicle Cats as they gather together for the annual Jellicle Ball.

CATS opens Tuesday, May 18 at the Lyric Theatre, Star City. Show times are as follows: Tuesday 8pm, Wednesday 1pm & 8pm, Thursday 8pm, Friday 8pm, Saturday 2pm & 8pm, Sunday 3pm (Performance times may be subject to change without notice.). Prices range from $40 to $130. To purchase tickets to CATS, call Ticketmaster at 300 795 267 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.au.
