DEATH ON THE HALF SHELL *Two Comic Tales on Death & the Absurdities of Life!* at Mélange Theatre Company at Trinity Street Playhouse

(AUSTIN, Texas) – Mélange Theatre Company welcomes fall with the World Premiere of Rita Anderson’s, Death on the Half Shell (Two Comic Tales on Death & the Absurdities of Life). Come celebrate Halloween with us and catch our kooky, spooky play! The play consists of two award-winning one-acts:

Part I: Threes is a comic spin on the urban legend: “All actors die in threes,” as three actors—former classmates whose careers took very different turns—meet up at the Advance Obituary Office, after their 15-minutes of fame has faded and the gig is up!

Part II: Final Conversations explores a Mother’s wish to have one real conversation with her Son before he is gone. --One morning, Mother knows Son has an hour to live and, with an absurd "everything but the kitchen-sink" approach, she attempts to get their final words to each other “right,” none of which alters destiny.

Directed by Karen Jambon (The Art of Martyrdom), Death on the Half Shell features Melissa McKnight (The Dragonfly Princess), Will Douglas (Lifespan of a Fact), Tim Blackwood (The Outsider), Anne Hulsman (Picasso at the Lapin Agile), and Nikki Zook (Seven).
