DIVAS IN AUSTIN to Premere 3/1 at Gibson Lounge

"The Number One female impersonation show in all of Texas" (SHOUT Magazine) returns with a new name and a new location. "Divas in Austin" debuts March 1st in the historic Gibson Lounge at Maggie Mae's downtown on 6th Street at Trinity, starting at 8 pm.

Staged in Austin for 10 years as "La Cage: Vegas in Austin," producer and emcee Rob Faubion has re-assembled his award-winning cast for an open run on Saturday nights in the heart of Austin's entertainment district. The Vegas-style production features a rotating cast performing astounding impersonations of the divas of pop, soul and rock & roll - including Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Madonna and more - with special guest, the award-winning comedy magician Jack Darling.

"Having played to standing-room-only audiences in Austin for a decade, our cast is ready to bring our amazing illusions to the crossroads of Austin's entertainment scene and to one of Austin's most storied stages."

Cast members of "Divas in Austin" have been featured on "RuPaul's Drag Race," numerous films, and have won many regional and national awards for their performances. Likewise, comic and magician Jack Darling has won critical praise and numerous performance awards, including 2012 "Best of the Fest" at Austin's FronteraFest.

Performances of "Divas in Austin" run Saturday nights at 8 pm in the Gibson Lounge at Maggie Mae's, 323 E 6th Street in downtown Austin. Doors open at 7:30 pm, and the performance runs 90 minutes with a 10-minute intermission. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $25 for VIP.
