Mavis Staples is a living legend. In a career spanning longer than Queen Elizabeth’s reign, this once-in-a-generation artist is a Kennedy Center Honoree, Blues, Gospel and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, three-time GRAMMY Award Winner and Lifetime Achievement recipient from both The Recording Academy and National Arts Awards. A civil rights icon, Staples marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., performed at John F. Kennedy’s inauguration and sang at The White House for President Barack Obama. Audiences will savor her chart-topping soul, gospel and R&B classics with YouTube sensation Lamont Landers opening.
