Swing Night At Aurora Theater Presents Maxine Cummins 4/11

Aurora Theatre continues our crowd pleasing concert series, Swing Night at Aurora Theatre featuring the Metro Jazz Club, with a show on Saturday April 11 at 8:00 PM. The Metro Jazz Club is a smokin'-hot 17 piece band accompanied by a sultry chanteuse, the magnificent Maxine Cummins. Your hostess for the evening will be Aurora Theatre Associate Producer Ann-Carol Pence.

If you have never heard her perform, you are in for a treat. Her signature style is best described as a blend of Rosemary Clooney and Josephine Baker. The concert will also feature two guest singers that are no strangers to Aurora Theatre patrons. Enjoy the velvety tones of Jayson Smith (Miss Firecracker Contest) and the incomparable Jevares Myrick (Christmas Canteen). Don't let the title of the series fool you, Metro Jazz Club, while rooted in the big band era, will include favorites from the 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's like: Little Brown Jug, In the Mood and Moondance.

If you should desire to cut-a-rug, we invite patrons up to the luxury level balcony to move to the nostalgic rhythms. Aurora Theatre welcomes Studio Dance & Fitness who will provide a swing dance demo during the show. Patrons can sign up for swing & ballroom dance classes the night of the performance.
