Photo Flash: Meet the Cast of Serenbe Playhouse's MAN OF LA MANCHA

By:

Just as the sweeping hills of Serenbe return to their verdant glory, and the flowers take bloom, the players of Serenbe Playhouse emerge with their playful interpretation of the 1965 classic Man of La Mancha. Audiences will be enthralled by Miguel de Cervantes' dueling existences, cleverly set in the puzzling backdrop of Serenbe's own labyrinth. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the cast!

This thrilling and winding production boasts quite an all-star cast. The tale's loopy hero will be none other than Bryant Smith, who captivated our hearts with his performance of Jud in last summer's Oklahoma! In this role, Smith will masterfully juggle the dueling existences of the imprisoned Miguel de Cervantes and his novel's protagonist, Don Quixote. Alongside him will be Playhouse favorite Laura Floyd Wood as the brassy and bewitching Aldonza, who is certain to enrapture audiences. Will Skelton joins the duo as the third wheel Sancho, Quixote's noble squire. The cast is rounded out by Atlanta's cream of the crop: Randi Garza, Austin Tijerina, and Daniel Burns along with Lauren Chamblin, Brittany Ellis, Robert Lee Hindsman, Allison Southwood, and Alex Towers.

Returning to partner with Clowdus' vision will be the talented Choreographer Bubba Carr, Assistant Director Ryan Oliveti, Musical Director Nicholas Silvestri, Sound Designer Bobby Johnston, and Fight Choreographer Christen Orr. New to the team are Costume Designer Abby Parker and Lighting Designer Tara O'Neil.

The cast and creative team won't be the only thing that set this performance apart with less intrepid interpretations of years past. Serenbe Playhouse's bold open-air approach to the play uses an actual labyrinth for its backdrop - one that is sure to take Cervantes' yarn-spinning to new heights. The space, which is customarily used for meditation and contemplation, will make for quite a suiting space as the dizzied and compelling story unfolds. Join the Playhouse team as they 'dream the impossible dream' and launch the first ever Spring production in Serenbe.

Show dates and times for Man of La Mancha are Wednesdays - Sundays, March 26th - April 11th at 8pm. Tickets are $30 Adults and $25 for Students.
