Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, continues its 24thSeason with the whimsical play, On The Verge Or The Geography of Yearning, by Eric Overmeyer at the Theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. This production has limited run dates for three weeks only from November 3rd through the 20th of 2016, with performances Wednesdays through Sundays. Acclaimed Atlanta actor and director Carolyn Cook (Artistic Director of Theatre du Reve and Artistic Associate at the former Georgia Shakespeare) directs the production. Sponsor for this comedic safari through time is longtime GET corporate partner, Northside Hospital.

When asked about directing this play, Ms. Cook was effusive in her praise saying, "I love this play because it's about discovery and adventure. It's about being led by and allowing our imagination to take us to unexpected places."

GET Artistic Director Bob Farley says of the production, "Ghost the Musical was a momentous start to Georgia Ensemble Theatre's current season. It revealed to us the eternal power of love and one woman's strength to find the fortitude to believe the unbelievable and keep going. We move forward in this spirit with themes over the next three plays by revealing stories by, for, or about the heroism and journeys of women, beginning with On the Verge or the Geography of Yearning. This wise and whimsical play will be followed by Topher Payne's premiere ofGreetings Friend Your Kind Assistance Is Required and Emily Mann's Having Our Say, the Delaney Sisters First One Hundred Years which will round out this thematic stream of important stories about being a woman in America."

About the Show:

Brave, willing and yearning to see it all, three American women explorers begin their trek to Terra Incognita in 1888, taking them through darkest Africa, across highest Himalaya, only to discover they are adrift in time. Our heroines navigate through uncharted territory populated with pop culture and possibility.

Part "Twilight Zone," part Back to the Future, don't miss this witty and whimsical safari through place and time.

The Cast:

On The Verge Or The Geography of Yearning features a wonderful cast of Atlanta performers, including many new comers to the GET stage: Park Krausen (Les Liaisons Dangereuses at Actor's Express, former Artistic Director of Theatre du Reve, GET debut); Keena Redding Hunt(The Mikado at Atlanta Lyric, A Woman Called Truth at The Alliance, GET debut).
