COMPANY by Stephen Sondheim is regarded as a trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre and is the winner of 7 TONY Awards included Best Musical, Best Score, Best Lyrics, and Best Book. COMPANY features many of Sondheim's best known songs, including "Ladies Who Lunch," "Being Alive," and "Side by Side by Side." Directed by Carolyn Choe, with Musical Director Annie Cook, this event is one you're not going to want to miss.
On the night of his 35th birthday, Robert (Zip Rampy) struggles to think of a wish to make as he blows out his birthday candles. The lone bachelor, surrounded by "those good and crazy people" -- his married friends -- Robert is uncertain whether he should simply be happy with his lot or whether he should wish for his own romantic partner. Over a series of dinner parties, first dates, thoughtful conversations, and even a wedding, Robert attempts to understand the pros and cons of marriage from his diverse and frequently hilarious friends, and he begins to question his adamant retention of bachelorhood.
COMPANY runs now through November 2, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8PM and Sunday matinees at 3PM. Out of Box Theatre is located in the Artisan Resource Center at 585 Cobb Parkway South, Marietta, GA 30060.
