One of Atlanta's most recognizable radio voices, Lois Reitzes, will join the Dad's Garage stage as part of the show "Story Spot" on Friday, January 6.

This show, curated by Dad's Garage ensemble member Mark Kendall, features local personalities who are each invited to share a personal story with the audience. A group of improvisers then creates a scene inspired by each story. The performers do not know what each story will be before the show, and the scenes they create are comedic, and often absurd, takes on the original inspiration.

"Story Spot" regularly features a group of Atlanta-area writers and storytellers. Also joining the January 6 show are Laura Relyea from ArtsATL and local performers David Russell and John Mangan.

"Story Spot" is part of the "Evening With..." series hosted by Dad's Garage. "Evening With..." highlights some of the top performers from Dad's Garage, and lets them curate new and experimental shows for our stage. The "Story Spot" concept is created by Mark Kendall, who previously wrote and starred in "The Magic Negro and Other Blackness," which went on to receive a Reiser Lab Grant from the ALLIANCE THEATRE.

The distinctive voice of Lois Reitzes has been heard on WABE since 1979. She began her career hosting classical music for Atlanta NPR listeners, and since 2015 has hosted the arts and culture news show "City Lights." The show can be heard weekdays at 11 a.m. on WABE - 90.1 FM.

We now entertain more than 33,000 people each year in Atlanta, at public events across the state, and at improv festivals across the continent. In addition to outrageous original productions, Dad's Garage produces improv shows year-round, educates young improvisers in a high school outreach program, and facilitates classes and workshops for the general public. Dad's Garage transforms people, communities, and perspectives through laughter.
