Kurt Kuehn of UPS Joins Atlanta Shakespeare Company Board of Directors

By:

The Atlanta Shakespeare Company is honored to welcome Mr. Kurt Kuehn to ASC's Board of Directors, where he will serve as co-chair of the upcoming capital campaign. A graduate of Yale University, the University of Miami, and the Advanced Management Program of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Kuehn will bring considerable knowledge and expertise to his new position at ASC. Mr. Kuehn comes to ASC after a distinguished career at UPS, where he held critical roles in the company including Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing from 2004 to 2008 and Chief Financial Officer from 2008 to 2015.

Artistic Director Jeff Watkins expressed his excitement about Mr. Kuehn joining the Board: "We just couldn't be happier to have Kurt join our Board of Directors. He and his wife Cheryl Davis and daughter were a part of our community way back when Cheryl used to teach at Casa Montessori School; they volunteered and came a great deal back then. And now that UPS is finished with Kurt, he can bring that strategic planning and all that enthusiasm to our company."

Mr. Kuehn explained that his daughter's involvement with ASC's education programs "...showed me how even in modern days these works can be brought to life and the Atlanta Shakespeare Company does a great job doing that." Mr. Kuehn also commented on how his extensive career at UPS will inform his work with ASC: "Through the experiences I have working at UPS in sales, marketing, and finance, I touched on a wide range of business issues and challenges. I also developed a lot of contacts over the years which can hopefully help us to increase the awareness of the theatre." ASC looks forward to seeing the wonderful work that Mr. Kuehn will do as a member of the Board of Directors.
