This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Staged as a live radio broadcast from 1946, you become the "live studio audience" as you watch and listen to the transformation of "a typical American Dreamer" (with a little help from an apprentice angel) that love, faith, friends, and character, will be rewarded in this classic American tale.

If you love this story, you will be entranced by the "play within a play" device that Joe Landry has seamlessly constructed. With the cast playing "stars" of the time, then playing voice characters for the broadcast, we are allowed to see them cut up on stage as "themselves" (particularly for the period commercial jingles) all the while performing the voices and sound effects for the "nationwide broadcast." Featuring the talents of Stuart Schleuse, Dana Knudson, Bekah Medford, Rachael Endrizzi, and Mercury, this sharp ensemble will transport you back to the days of live radio theatre. Directed by Danielle Gustaveson (who also did Props and Costumes), Set and Sound Design by Mercury, and Light Design by Joel Coady, the Studio A of WBFR in Manhattan comes neatly to life as the art deco influenced period demands
