A Fall Odyssey
Garner (Stacey Bode Photography)

As autumn rolls in, we will embark on one of our most ambitious endeavors with The Odyssey: a Journey Home. Based on the work of Homer and adapted by Richard Garner and the Georgia Shakespeare Company, October's adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey launches a ten-year program of producing company-generated work we are affectionately calling The Icarus Project.

In this production, Homer's epic has been cleverly tailored to parallel a return-from-war story of a present-day veteran. "Home: a place worth fighting for and worth fighting to get back to."

Georgia Shakespeare will host various symposiums and events around the production to honor our veterans and raise awareness of their many post-war concerns. The show runs October 7 - 31.

Georgia Shakespeare is delighted to announce that our 25th Anniversary Season will close with the city's professional stage premiere of the movie favorite A Christmas Story!

But can Ralphie survive the last couple weeks before Christmas when he'll endure bunny pajamas, double-dog dares, and those six dreaded words,"You'll shoot your eye out, kid."?

A Christmas Story, written by Philip Grecian, based on the motion picture by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Rob Clark, and on the book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, by Jean Shepherd, and directed by Associate Artist Drew Fracher, runs December 7 - 24.
