Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) has announced the opening production of its 2015-2016 Season: Calendar Girls by Tim Firth. This award-winning play based on the smash hit movie will run from September 10th through October 4th of 2015 at the Theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. These dates include a one week extension to accommodate audience demand. GET was the first professional theatre company in the United States to secure the rights to this play, and this September 2015 run will mark the Southeastern premiere.

To celebrate this exciting announcement, GET is making advance ticket sales available during the last two weeks of December only. During these dates, tickets for the extension week (September 30-October 4, 2015) will be available at the current season's prices of $25-$35. After this advance sale, individual tickets will not be available to the public until after the season ticket campaign in the Spring of 2015. Individual ticket prices will increase for 2015-2016, so this is a wonderful opportunity to get tickets to Calendar Girls with excellent seating and even better prices.

Based on the movie of the same title, the plot of this comedy revolves around nine women in a small English village who resolve to pose nude for an "alternative" calendar to raise funds for a local hospital. News of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village. The calendar is a success, but the women's friendship is put to the test under the strain of their new-found fame.

Calendar Girls (the play) first premiered at the Chichester Festival Theatre, and has since become the fastest selling play in British theatre history. Artistic Director Robert J. Farley and Managing Director Anita Allen-Farley first saw the production in 2009 on a London theatre trip with GET patrons. Everyone on the trip loved the play so much that since that time, the Farleys have been working diligently to secure the rights to the show as soon as they were available. Now, thanks to their efforts, metro Atlanta audiences will be treated to this funny, touching play.

Casting for GET's Calendar Girls will be announced in the Spring of 2015.

During the advance sales period (December 15-31, 2014), tickets will be available online at www.get.org, or by calling the Box Office at 770-641-1260.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre is conveniently located at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center at 950 Forrest Street in the heart of historic Roswell, with plenty of free, safe, and well-lit parking available. There is easy access to the Theatre from Exit 7B off of Georgia 400; and there are many quaint cafes and restaurants in close proximity for pre-show dining. A list of restaurant partners is available on the GET website (get.org), offering discounts to patrons on the same day as their ticketed performance.
