Casting Announced For BAYARD: A New Musical at El Teatro of El Museo Del Barrio

SCAN NEW YORK and BOYS & GIRLS HARBOR in collaboration with GAY MEN'S HEALTH CRISIS and FACING HISTORY AND OURSELVES are proud to present with Richard Allen and Taran Gray: BAYARD: A New Musical.

Join us for an inspirational production of Bayard: A New Musical! In an unforgettable celebration of Allen and Gray's buzzworthy brand new musical,Bayard: A New Musical explores the themes of friendship, identity, and inequality within the ranks of those fighting for freedom. Bayard: A New Musical highlights the life of civil rights activist, Bayard Rustin. An openly gay black male fights against oppression while being oppressed by the friends and people he's fighting for.

The production will star Jonathan Farrington, Cartreze Tucker (HAIR (National/International Tour), Motown: The Musical (National Tour)), Khalifa White(School of Rock 1st National Tour), Kayla Pecchioni (National Tour: Book of Mormon (Nabulungi) New York: Radio City Christmas Spectacular), April Josephine (Regional: La Jolla Playhouse: Up Here; La Mirada Theater: West Side Story; 3-D Theatricals), Aja Downing, Scott Redmond (Cyclone (Alliance Theatre), Freedom Riders (NYMF), Fat Kid Rules the World (Theatre Row)), Christian Magby (Regional: Hairspray (City Springs Theatre) Freaky Friday, Blackberry Daze (Horizon Theatre Company)), Joshua David Cavanaugh (Regional credits include: First Date (SDMT/PRiMA), The Light in the Piazza and Sweeney Todd(FLMTF)), Nathan Nonhof (Bayard (Feinsteins/54below)), and LeRoi Richardson.
