Experience the joy and excitement of the golden age of Tin Pan Alley when Atlanta Lyric Theatre's THE ALL NIGHT STRUT! struts its stuff as it comes roaring to The Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square in a no holds-barred celebration of the age of be-bop, jazz and swing February 19 through March 7. Filled with non-stop action directed by Lyric Artistic Director Brandt Blocker, superb choreography by Elizabeth Neidel, great music from the onstage 'STRUT' band, and irrepressible humor, this two-act bonanza of pulsating energy features Courtney Godwin, Jevares C. Myrick, Sharelle Speller and Brad Southards who jitterbug, croon and scat as they romp down memory lane with the loving sure-footedness of travelers who have been this way before.

An anthology of swinging, slinky, sensuous songs, THE ALL NIGHT STRUT! covers the American experience of the Depression Era of the 1930's, the patriotic fervor of World War II and the post war boom of the late 1940's with great style and heady optimism. THE ALL NIGHT STRUT! features a score by such legendary songwriters as Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Loesser and George and Ira Gershwin.

From the funky jive of late night jam sessions in Harlem to the sophisticated elegance of El Morocco to the romance of the Stage Door Canteen, this is an evening filled with jazz, blues, gospel, be-bop, swing and classic song standards that tug at the heart, tickle the funny bone and raise the rafters. Filled with some of the greatest songs of the '30's and '40's such as "Juke Box Saturday Night", "Ain't Misbehavin'", "White Cliffs Of Dover", "Brother Can You Spare A Dime", Chattanooga Choo-Choo", "Gimme A Pigfoot And A Bottle Of Beer", "I'll Be Seeing You", "Fascinating Rhythm", "As Time Goes By", and "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing", THE ALL NIGHT STRUT! is irresistible, totally entertaining and a red-hot winner!

Playing a limited engagement as part of Atlanta Lyric Theatre's 30th Anniversary Season, THE ALL NIGHT STRUT! runs through March 7 at The Strand Theatre (117 N. Park Square, Marietta). For reservations and information, call 404-377-9948 or visit www.atlantalyrictheatre.com.

About Atlanta Lyric Theatre: Currently celebrating their 30th anniversary, Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Atlanta's only local professional musical theater company, was formed in 1980 by Tedi and Robert Langdon and Sally Knap as the Southeastern Savo yards, a repertory theatre company dedicated to presenting the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. The company's first production, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, was performed at Emory University in December 1980. Later, the company's productions were moved to the Marist School, the 14th Street Playhouse, Center Stage Theater, and then to the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts on the campus of Georgia Tech where the company's main stage performances were produced for seventeen seasons. In 2009, the Atlanta Lyric Theatre moved their performances to The Strand Theatre, a noted landmark on the historic Marietta Square in Cobb County. The Strand Theatre got its start as a major motion picture house in 1935. The Strand provided movie entertainment to thousands of people of all ages until it closed its doors as a movie house in 1976. After sitting dark for over 30 years, the 1935 Art Deco theatre was renovated and reopened in 2009 with the Atlanta Lyric Theatre's production of Beauty and the Beast. More information about the theater company can be found at www.atlantalyrictheatre.com.
