The award-winning Young People's Chorus of New York City brightens the holiday season with multiple concerts across New York City. This Sunday, December 11 all YPC choral divisions, with singers ranging from 7 to 18 years of age, will perform in two winter concert performances at the 92nd Street Y at 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. YPC's annual winter concert is one of New York City's most joyful events of the season, with YPC's choristers singing holiday favorites and songs of the season from all over the world.

On Thursday, December 15 the chorus returns to St. Patrick's Cathedral for the 37th annual "A City Singing at Christmas" concert at 7:00 p.m. YPC and Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez join the Diocesan Choir of Rockville Centre Choir, the St. Patrick's Cathedral Choir, the Cathedral Organ, and New York Symphonic Brass in this jubilant celebration of Christmas with a program of traditional and contemporary Christmas hymns and carols in the majesty of St. Patrick's Cathedral. The evening closes with the evening's performers and everyone else in attendance joining together to sing Silent Night by candlelight.

On Sunday, December 18, the Young People's Chorus of New York City at Washington Heights (YPCWH), the first after-school community program of the Young People's Chorus of New York City, led by YPC Assistant Conductor Maria C. Peña, performs in a musical prelude to the annual holiday candlelight reading of Clement Clarke Moore's "Twas the Night Before Christmas (A Visit from Saint Nicholas)" at the Church of the Intercession on at 3:00 p.m. Following the reading, audience members may join in a lantern procession and wreath-laying ceremony at Clement Moore's mausoleum at Trinity Church, across the street from the Church of the Intercession, a tradition that began 115 years ago in 1911.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City is internationally renowned not only for its artistic excellence and brilliant showmanship, but as a model for an inclusive society that is being replicated globally. Founded in 1988 by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, a MacArthur "Genius" Fellow, this groundbreaking program harnesses the power of music to fulfill the potential of every child. Over 1,600 children ages 7 to 18 participate in YPC's after-school and in-school programs.

YPC's recording Coolside of Yuletide featuring specially arranged holiday classics and new holiday songs is available from iTunes.
