Wyatt McCubbin to Release Debut Album 650 Oct. 16, Tour With Zach Top, Luke Combs
New single All Outta You, co-written with Shane Minor, was recorded live to tape at Dave Cobb's Thunderbolt Studios.
After more than 15 years establishing himself as one of Nashville's most trusted songwriters, Wyatt McCubbin has announced his debut album 650 will be released on October 16 via Dave Cobb's Lucille Records/MCA. The 10-song collection traces Wyatt's roots from a four-way-stop-town in Ohio where he was raised to his home in Nashville, where country music on the radio was a constant thread throughout his life. Whether tuning into the local station (where he would eventually work right after high school) or picking up WSM's Nashville signal in his grandfather's garage, the radio came to represent connection to people and places in the country music story, culminating in his Dave Cobb-produced debut 650.
Alongside the album announcement, McCubbin released his new single 'All Outta You,' a heartbreaking lament co-written with Shane Minor.
McCubbin on the new song: ''All Outta You' is one of those songs tailor-made for a lonely motel room or a midnight drive. I love songs with a dark, grungy edge. Sad country music will always be undefeated.'
Recorded live to tape at Dave Cobb's Thunderbolt Studios in Savannah, GA, 650 is the culmination of nearly 2,000 songs McCubbin has written over the last decade and a half. 'The only thing I wanted to say with this record is what I have lived,' McCubbin explains. 'This 36 minutes is really sixteen years in the making.'
Rich with vivid details that feel instantly familiar, the song showcases the timeless storytelling that has made McCubbin one of Nashville's most respected songwriters, with his songs recorded by artists such as Luke Combs, Zach Top, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson, earning him a spot on MusicRow's Top 100 Songwriters list in both 2024 and 2025. For the first time in his career, he is a co-writer on three songs currently climbing the country radio charts: Riley Green's 'Think As You Drunk,' Cody Johnson's 'Horseback,' and Jon Pardi's 'Boots Off.
'I've always believed it all starts with a song. I loved Wyatt because he truly follows in the legacy of great songwriter-artists like Don Williams and Kris Kristofferson,' says Dave Cobb.
From first being introduced to country music in his grandfather's garage, to writing music for his own children, family is woven throughout 650. Wyatt's wife, Holly McCubbin, provides harmony vocals throughout the album and handpicked 'Fly, Baby, Fly,' a song Wyatt wrote for their daughter, Dove. He also wrote 'Boy in a Boat' for his son Autry. 'This is nowhere near the same album without her fingerprint on it,' says Wyatt. 'Having my entire family represented on the album means the world to me.'
Next month, McCubbin will continue supporting Zach Top on his Cold Beer & Country Music Tour, making stops in Bend, San Diego, Anaheim, San Antonio and more. Next year, he will support Luke Combs for 12 shows on his My Kinda Saturday Night tour. Tickets are on sale starting today.
