World Premiere Of THE FIELD Headlines Broadway Bound Theatre Festival This Summer

The town of Avon is in trouble. With the local furniture plant closing down and hundreds out of work, everyone is in need of a miracle. One morning, a mysterious crop circle appears in a corn field and with it, a series of unexplainable events that cause the citizens to confront the question: If miracles do exist, what do you do with one when you get it?

Complete casting has been announced for The Field, a new play by Emily Emerson, premiering at the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival 2018. The Field will run Wednesday, August 8 at 5pm, Thursday, August 9 at 8:30pm, and Friday, August 10 at 5pm. All performances will be held at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 East 14th Street. She received an MFA from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a BFA from Viterbo University.

The Field is presented as part of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival 2018. Come out and play, New York! Affordable theatre is live, well, and living in NYC's eclectic and electric East Village. Broadway Bound takes a fresh approach to the theatre festival model as it mentors the continent's brightest playwrights on successful self-production.

For playwrights, participating in BBTF is a balance between seeing their play not only as a work of art, but as a business venture and actively participating in the community, with the complete and comprehensive support of the festival's management team. The result is a top quality production of their premiere work in NYC's only curated festival.

The 2018 season will see a fresh and diverse cross section of theatre relevant to the modern audience.

The New York Times pick of top 15 festivals to see, Broadway Bound runs August 4-24 with multiple performances daily.
