WorkShop Theater Company (Scott C. Sickles, Artistic Director, Jeff Paul, Managing Director) will revive the 2009 FringeNYC hit, Protected, by playwright Timothy Scott Harris, April 26-May 17 in their Main Stage Theater (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, 4th Floor).

The production will be directed by Thomas Coté and will feature Dee Dee Friedman* (Bella in the National Tour of Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers), Cam Kornman* (The Book of Ted with WorkShop), Jeff Paul* (Interchange with WorkShop), Bill Tatum* (Jeffrey Sweet’s Bluff at 78th Street Theatre Lab), and Matt Walker* (Stress Positions at FringeNYC). The Creative Team will include Set Design by Craig Napoliello, Costume Design by Joanie Schumacher, and Sound Design by Sean Singer. After entering into the witness protection program, Langley is forced to leave his life and memories behind for a new identity. Feeling isolated and alone, he desperately wants to connect with the people around him, but is held back by his secrets. Will an obsessive-compulsive germaphobe and a drag queen help him to release his fears, and even give him a second chance at love? 
 
The production, presented by the WorkShop Theater Company in their Main Stage Theater (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, 4th Floor) will play a four-week engagement April 26-May 19; Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm with an additional performance on Monday, May 7 at 8pm. Timothy Scott Harris (Playwright) has been an actor, writer, and director in New York for over 20 years. He served as Artistic Director of the WorkShop Theater Company for five years until 2009. He is also a founding member of The Harbor Theatre Company and Doug Moston’s Drama Project. He has worked with many theater companies including Ensemble Studio Theatre, Riverside Shakespeare, and Art and Work Ensemble, just to name a few. His full-length play, Last Stand had it’s world premier at the WorkShop Theater Main Stage in 2003. His other plays, The Adventures of Captain Neato-Man (published by Samuel French), In God We Trust, and The Big Nil have been produced nationally and internationally from Alaska to New Zealand.
