The Woman In White will usher in a new group of performers in addition to Ruthie Henshall, who will replace Maria Friedman as Marian on July 11th.

Damian Humbley will assume the role of Walter Hartright, Alexandra Silber will take over as Laura Fairlie, and Michael Cormick will begin performances as Sir Percival Glyde, with Elinor Collett drifting across the stage as Anne Catherick, the white wraith of the title.  Anthony Andrews will continue to play the rotund Count Fosco, the comically villainous role originated by Michael Crawford when the show opened at the Palace Theatre on September 15th, 2005.

The Woman in White is directed by Trevor Nunn, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by David Zippel and a book by Charlotte Jones.  The gothic musical romance is based on the classic Wilkie Collins novel, and is about "a dashing young man, employed as the art tutor to two devoted sisters, [who] is stranded at a remote railway cutting. Out of the darkness looms a woman, a mysterious figure dressed in white, desperate to share a chilling secret. He and the sisters soon find themselves trapped in a web of betrayal and greed, the victims of a seemingly flawless crime. Together they will need all their resourcefulness and courage to outwit a hugely charismatic and ingenious villain. As the compelling plot twists and turns, low villainy vies with high romance in a world where nothing is as it first appears and where it is impossible to know who to trust."  William Dudley (sets and costumes), Paul Pyant (lighting), and  Mick Potter (sound ) make up the design team with Wayne McGregor behind the choreography and Simon Lee handling the music supervision.

The Australian Humbley, who will make his West End debut in the show, has appeared in productions of Oliver!, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Merrilly We Roll Along in his native country, while fellow Aussie Cormick has performed on the West End in The Phantom of the Opera and Calamity Jane.  Collett has been seen on London stages as Fantine in Les Miserables and Sophie in Mamma Mia.  Silber also makes her West End debut in the show, having trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.  Henshall, a preeminent London leading lady, is an Olivier-winner for She Loves Me, and she has also been nominated for Crazy For You and ChicagoShe has also appeared in West End productions of Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and Oliver!, and was featured on Broadway in Putting It Together.
