The Windham Theatre Guild is once again offering chocolate, wines, entertainment, and bargains galore. The 9th annual chocolate gala and goods and services auction will be held on Saturday October 17th, starting at 7:00pm at the Burton Leavitt Theatre.

For this one night, the theatre is transformed into a bargain hunter's dream.  Gift baskets, gift certificates, gourmet dinners, get-away trips, specialty items, and more are yours for the lowest bid.  Most items will be displayed for you to bid on silently, and some of the best items will be available through the unpredictable and exciting action of a live auction. The evening begins with an indulgence hour from 7:00-8:00pm featuring a three tier chocolate fountain flowing with gourmet Ghiardelli chocolate, and surrounded by an assortment of dippers.  Attendees can enjoy a wine tasting featuring entertainment by the Windham Theatre Guild Singers.

Semi-formal attire is optional for the evening and tickets are $25 each or two $40.  For reservations, call 423-2245 or visit windhamtheatreguild.org.

The Windham Theatre Guild is a non-profit organization that has been producing quality community theatre since 1985. Hundreds of community volunteers join the theater each year as they strive to offer live theatrical and musical productions and education in the performing arts that promote the growth, quality and general welfare of the Arts in Eastern and Central Connecticut. Each year, the Guild produces five Main Stage productions ranging from comedies to dramadies, to murder mysteries to musicals. These productions are held at the Burton Leavitt Theatre and offer dinner, dessert and show only performances. A large summer musical is presented at Windham High School. The WTG also produces at least one Second Stage production each year, from Shakespeare to Moliere to more dramatic works including plays by local playwrights. In addition to theatrical performances the Guild offers Broadway chorus concerts, youth chorus concerts, performances by local musicians and bus trips to Broadway. The Windham Theatre Guild currently draws an average attendance of 5,000 people at over sixty performances a year. The organization continues to grow and expand its program each year, offering a variety of opportunities for members of the community to learn about and experience many aspects of the theatre. The group is open to the community, all auditions are completely open and the Guild is constantly looking for volunteers to help in all areas of its productions.
