While Daniella Monet's Victorious character, Trina Vega, is known for performing in a fictional musical about Chicago, things almost got full circle when she auditioned to star in the Broadway production of the iconic musical. The Nickelodeon star took to Instagram to share a look inside her recent audition process after she was invited to try out for Roxie Hart.

In the new videos, Monet revealed her audition took place just a week after she wrapped filming on Hollywood Arts, a new Victorious spin-off for Netflix. She shares how she fully committed to the experience, buying her first pair of characters shoes and diving into the world of the Kander & Ebb musical.

She takes her followers into Ripley-Grier Studios, where her one hour and twenty minute audition took place.

"I gave it everything I had. I made big and small choices. It all just felt like a playground for me. Performing has always been a part of my life, since I was little just wanted to entertainment people and hear them laugh. I guess it’s just who I am, it's what I love. In that room, I felt that feeling. Like I was just growing up a little me performing in my living room. Only, instead of my family as my audience, it was a line of seasoned Broadway producers and casting."

A week after her audition, Monet was told that producers had declined to move forward. She reveals that while she had gotten excited about the possibility of taking on the iconic role, she is grateful for the process.

"After 30 years in this business, this is all just part of the journey. I wouldn't be able to appreciate the wins if I wasn’t able to recognize all the effort it took a long way. So although rejection is a bummer, I’m proud of myself for taking a risk, for pushing myself, and growing even at the stage I’m in in my career. I have so much more to explore creatively and that’s exciting to me. I couldn't not share with you guys because this was a wild experience. It was a rush. So no Roxie for now, but I can’t wait to find out what this no is making room for."
