Variety Show WILFREDO A GO GO! Returns To The Slipper Room

Three of New York City's most beloved Downtown acts join the comic sensation Wilfredo for the February edition of Wilfredo a Go Go! tonight. Stand-up magician the Great Dubini, sideshow sensation Fibi Eyewalker and burlesque art star Cassandra Rosebeetle are lined up to appear in the variety show produced and presented by the Slipper Room at 9pm.

Wilfredo is the outlandish alter-ego of the British-born comedian and entertainer Matt Roper, who has charmed, hypnotized and terrified audiences around the world. Whether he's performing in a comedy club, under the circus canvas, or playing to audiences at New York's Lincoln Center, Wilfredo captures the imagination of all sorts of audiences. With a series of albums, a documentary short and a legion of fans behind him, the act has been described as "nothing short of a feast for the senses".

Roper first came to prominence among New York theatre-goers in 2016 for his portrayal of Chico Marx in the Off Broadway smash I'll Say She Is: The Lost Marx Brothers Musical at the Connelly Theater. He has since performed with various downtown collectives including the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, the Secret Variety Society, Visceral Abstractions and Three-Legged Dog. Last year Roper performed the role of clown in Jack and the Beanstalk, the first large-scale pantomime to be performed in New York City for over a century, at the Playhouse Theater at the Abrons.

Cassandra Rosebeetle is one of the best loved burlesque acts in the Downtown scene. Beginning her career as a competitive ice skater, she's performed as a principal member of Desert Sin Dance Company and has since toured with them throughout the United States and Europe. She performs the sideshow act of glass-walking for events all over NYC, combining this circus piece with burlesque and dance. She was an original cast member of Queen of the Night at the Diamond Horseshoe Theater at the Paramount Hotel as an interactive performance artist. Rosebeetle appeared as the ice skater Celestina in Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin's window display at Barney's, New York. With Elizabeth Munn she co-created and co-produced They Want It Darker, a sold out season of shows at the Slipper Room - a collaboration between aerial, dance and performance art. Her burlesque acts can be seen all over the city.

Sword swallower and fire-eater Fibi Eyewalker has travelled the world as a part of the The Squidling Brothers Circus Sideshow - a world famous Freakshow group - and with the The Demented Dolls of Side Show, an all-female sideshow company. She has performed in some of New York's best known nightspots, including the Slipper Room, the Box and the House of Yes. She is also known for her magical - and often dangerous - ten-in-one performances at the Coney Island Sideshow Theater.

Gregory Dubin, a.k.a The Great Dubini, is a stand-up magician who has charmed audiences across the globe, from the streets of New York City to the stages of Tokyo, Japan. He performs regularly at Ripley's Believe It or Not's Sideshow Wonders, with The Love Show NYC, in the Off Broadway hit Sleep No More, as well as in his own magic and variety show The Mystique Boutique.
