Tonight at 8/7c, TLC's MY 600-LB LIFE presents the story of Cynthia Wells, a 610-pound single mother of five from Oklahoma City. Cynthia grew up in a family where being big was not only normal, it was celebrated. In high school, she longed for the attention of the opposite sex, but nobody wanted to date her because of her weight. After being humiliated, depressed, and even attempting suicide, Cynthia used food as her only solace and found her weight spiraling out of control.

When Cynthia was 28, she learned her cousin's children were being abused and she immediately stepped in to save them. Overnight she went from having no children to three totally dependent on her. She dedicated her life to making sure they were well taken care of, which left her no time to take care of herself. By the time she was 32 she weighed 425 pounds, and over the next few years had two kids of her own. Now she weighs over 600 pounds and the kids are having to take care of her.

In order to support her family, Cynthia works as a special needs school teacher, but it's BECOMING harder to simply stand on her feet all day, and there will be no one to support her family if she loses her job, or her life. Everything is at risk for Cynthia as she struggles to make ends meet as a busy mom and still stay focused on losing weight to save herself and her family. Watch a sneak peek below!
