UglyRhino Productions announces its December 2012 programming, including "UGLYSHOTS: A NEW CINEMATIC DRINKING GAME" and "WAREHOUSE NEW YEAR’S" with live bands and DJs to ring in 2013.

December’s installment of TinyRhino* will premiere UglyShots, a brand new partnership with Over Shots Productions. The first in a reoccurring series, UglyShots will pair the TinyRhino drinking game concept with a series of short films. These films will be conceived, written, filmed and edited in under eight weeks specifically for this event, and films will be screened for the first time for the TinyRhino audience. Filmmakers include Joe Bandelli (“The Shorts Show”, “Bumbloods”), David Bly (“Undiscovered”), Joanna Bowzer (“Delusions of Guinevere”), Nina Sokoler, and Nick Snow (“The Shorts Show”).

December’s drinking game elements will include: someone offers to pay, someone corrects grammar, someone gives a thumbs up or thumbs down, someone does the electric slide (or other Bar Mitzvah type of dance).

UglyShots will be on Monday, December 10 at 8pm at the Brooklyn Lyceum (227 4th Avenue at Union Street, Brooklyn). Tickets are $10 at the door, which includes one free beer. Each TinyRhino features live jazz music, drink specials, and a cocktail hour following the performance.

*TinyRhino, UglyRhino's take on the ten-minute play evening, will return in January. Each month we commission six short plays each including the same dramatic elements. On the night of the performance, these elements are revealed to the audience as cues to drink.

Warehouse New Year’s returns to The Brooklyn Lyceum to ring in 2013 with the best deal in town. All drinks are $5 and under, and the evening will feature live bands, DJs, dancing, and a 25-foot screen to watch the ball drop. DJs include Brian Blackout (“Happy House”) and Lepaux (“Back to Back”).

Warehouse New Year’s is December 31st, 2012 and doors open at 9:30pm. Cover is $10 online or at the door before 11pm, and $15 after 11pm.

UGLYRHINO is a new way to experience theater. Expanding on our high quality productions, we integrate dynamic arts programming ranging from emerging musicians to warehouse parties. UglyRhino curates affordable evenings with a social atmosphere that capture the inimitable spirit of Brooklyn.

THE BROOKLYN LYCEUM is a producing arts venue and cultural center on The Edge of Gowanus. Originally opened in 1910 as an indoor bathing facility, it now plays host to a range of theater, music, dance, markets and community activities. The Lyceum programs small and large artistic works, working with both local and travelling professional groups, and has an array of activities throughout the year, including our large markets and conventions, zumba classes, a drop down batting cage and weekly jazz.
