Town Hall's Broadway Cabaret Festival to Feature Beth Leavel, Matt Cavenaugh, Mandy Gonzalez and More

The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) has announced the Eighth Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival, which takes place over three consecutive weeks in October. 

The Broadway Cabaret Festival begins on Saturday, October 13th at 8pm with Linda Eder: A New Life, and continues on Sunday, October 21st at 3pm with Broadway Originals!. The Festival concludes on Friday, October 26th at 8pm with The Best of Broadway by the Year®. The Broadway Cabaret Festival is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Tickets for all three performances are $55, $50, and $45. On Saturday, October 13th at 8pm, Linda Eder returns to the Town Hall with a new concert, A New Life. Showcasing one of the greatest contemporary voices of our time, this concert brings the singer’s musical life full circle. Her performance begins with a tribute to the “songbirds” who have greatly influenced her and continues with songs from some of her favorite contemporary artists. In A New Life, Linda will also pay homage to artists who have greatly influenced her and will sing some of her favorite songs. Linda will be joined by special guests Robert Cuccioli and Christiane Noll to share selections from Jekyll & Hyde, the musical that will forever link her to Broadway’s leading ladies. 
 
On Sunday, October 21st at 3pm, Broadway Originals! features an afternoon of songs and memories with Broadway stars reprising songs they introduced either in the original Broadway production or the original Broadway cast revival. Current stars include Chad Kimball (Tony Nominated Star of Memphis), Alice Ripley (Tony Award Winner for Next to Normal/Tony Nominated for Sideshow), Bob Martin (Tony nominee for The Drowsy Chaperone's The Man in the Chair), Karen Ziemba (Tony Award Winner for Contact and Steel Pier ), Matt Cavenaugh (West Side Story), Tovah Feldshuh (Tony Nominated for Sarava) and Mandy Gonzalez (Drama Desk Award Winner for In The Heights). Additional cast members are soon to be announced. 
 
On Friday, October 26th at 8PM, Beth Leavel (Tony Award/The Drowsy Chaperone), Kerry O'Malley (On A Clear Day, Drama Desk Award/Into The WoodsKaren Akers (Tony Nominee/Nine), Lari White (Three Grammy Awards), Christine Andreas (Tony Nominations/On Your Toes and Oklahoma), William Michals (South Pacific), Christina Bianco (Drama Desk Nominee/Forbidden Broadway), Carole J. Bufford (Bistro Award Winner), Jeffry Denman (Drama Desk Nominee/Yank), and Noah Racey (Curtains) will be among the performers featured in The Best of Broadway by The Year®.  After a total of more than 50 critically acclaimed concerts over a dozen years, The Town Hall's signature series will feature its greatest showstoppers culled from over 1,000 past performances!

"This October at Town Hall will feature the greatest concentration of Broadway stars in the history of our Broadway Cabaret Festival," said Scott Siegel. "The vast majority of our performers have either won or have been nominated for Tonys, Drama Desk Awards, and Grammys. In addition, to our first concert with Linda Eder and her co-stars from Jekyll & Hyde, Robert Cuccioli and Christiane Noll, and our popular annual Broadway Originals concert, for the first time ever we are presenting The Best of Broadway by the Year®, a concert event that will feature some of our greatest stars in their most electrifying performances."
 
The Town Hall, a National Historic landmark located in the heart of New York City's theatre district, is a non-profit organization serving the community since 1921.  It was built by a group of suffragettes and began as a lecture hall and public forum for debates where "America's Town Meetings on The Air" was broadcast live for 25 years.  Over the decades, cultural icons including Billie Holiday, Bob Dylan, MiLes Davis, and most recently, the Dalai Lama and President Obama, have graced the stage.  Today the Hall boasts the hottest acts in rock, pop, folk, cabaret, world music, comedy and dance. In its annual show, Broadway Rising Stars, The Town Hall gives recent graduates from the nation's leading performing arts schools a chance to showcase their talents and perform on the legendary stage. The Town Hall Educational Outreach Program helps schools build their arts programs and advance student learning through standards-based, collaborative arts residencies.
