Hedwig and the Angry Inch's Lena Hall played her final performance as Yitzhak last night April 4 and you could hear the screams down the street as each of her previous Hedwigs, including Andrew Rannells, Neil Patrick Harris and Michael C. Hall surprised her on stage (along with of course, John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask). As announced earlier this week, Honeymoon in Vegas, plays its final performance at Broadway's Nederlander Theater (208 West 41st Street) today, Sunday, April 5, 2015. Honeymoon in Vegas began performances on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, and officially opened on Thursday, January 15, 2015 to rave reviews. Prior to Broadway, Honeymoon in Vegas completed a successful engagement at the Papermill Playhouse in Milburn, NJ October 6 - 27, 2013. (more...)

The two-time Tony Award winning hilarious hit comedy 39 Steps is currently in previews with an opening night set for Monday, April 13th at the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street). The cast of 39 Steps will feature original Broadway cast member Arnie Burton as Clown #2, as well as Billy Carter as Clown #1, Broadway vet Robert Petkoff as the dashing hero Richard Hannay, and Brittany Vicars as Pamela/Annabella/Margaret in her New York City stage debut. Today in 2007, The Pirate Queen opened at the Hilton Theatre (now the FoxwoodsTheatre), where it ran for 85 performances. The Pirate Queen is a musical written by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, best known for their adaptation of Les Miserables. It is based on the life and adventures of the 16th century Irish chieftain and pirate Grainne O'Malley, who was one of the last Irish clan leaders to resist the English conquest of Gaelic Ireland. The cast featured Stephanie J. Block as the title character and Linda Balgord, who was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I. (more...)
