Today we are taking a look at a clip from the 2005 Tony Awards in which Hugh Jackman shows why he may very well be Hollywood's gift to musical theatre in a mesmerizing medley comprising myriad songs - nearly thirty - in a breathtaking arrangement by Michael John LaChiusa created especially for the Tony Awards.

Wolverine has more that just chops - he's got singing and dancing chops too. From "I Won't Dance" to "Never Gonna Dance" to "I Hear Music" all the way to "Gotta Dance" and on and on goes this incredible melody in which Jackman gets a chance to truly let loose with the terrific talent he is able to display at the - at one point in the telecast, literal - drop of a hat. This medley is far more than mere Broadway tunes though - unless, of course, you consider the coming-in-soon prescence of PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT'S "Shake Your Groove Thing" - One thing is for sure judging by the evidence of this clip: A musical movie on the level of Jackman's exquisite talents cannot come soon enough!

If that just isn't enough to give you a Hugh high - and, in lieu of a new FLASHBACK FRIDAY column this week - then check out the extravagent and opulent opening number from the 2004 Tony‘s as well, which also happens to connect us to yesterday's entry in the Top Ten Tony Moment Countdown, with DREAMGIRLS' disco anthem "One Night Only" performed alongside The Rockettes. Truly out-of-this-world thrilling!

That's all for today, be sure to stay tuned to BroadwayWorld everyday until Tony Award Sunday for all Tony Award-related news, articles, interviews and digital media. ‘Til tomorrow...
