By: Marianka Swain
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play SWEAT by Lynn Nottage is transferring to the West End's Gielgud Theatre from 7 June to 20 July, following a sold-out run at The Donmar Warehouse. Book tickets here!
Based on interviews with residents of the rustbelt town of Reading, Pennsylvania, Nottage's play examines the lives of factory workers facing de-industrialisation. As friendships strain under fear, anger and racial tensions, a devastating outcome awaits the divided community.
Directed by Bush Theatre Artistic Director and former Donmar Resident Assistant Director Lynette Linton, the production will once again be led by Martha Plimpton. Read BroadwayWorld's five-star review here
