I am honored to announce that the first production of our 50th Anniversary Season will be Émile Zola'sThérèse Raquin, in a Roundabout-commissioned adaptation by Helen Edmundson and directed by Evan Cabnet. I am also thrilled to announce that Keira Knightley will be making her Broadway debut as Thérèse.

Keira is an accomplished actor both on film and on stage. She is an Academy Award (Pride and Prejudice), Golden Globe (Pride and Prejudice,Atonement), and BAFTA (Atonement) nominee and has a varied and widely praised filmography, includingBend It Like Beckham, Pirates of the Caribbean, Love Actually, and Anna Karenina. She has two films slated for release this fall, including The Imitation Game, in which she stars opposite Benedict Cumberbatch. Keira has appeared in The Misanthrope and The Children's Hour in London's West End. She was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in The Misanthrope.

Evan is a Roundabout Associate Artist. He directed David West Read's The Dream of the Burning Boy for Roundabout Underground. Evan's directing credits have taken him to Broadway, Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3, Atlantic Theater Company, the Long Wharf Theatre, and the Goodman Theatre, among many others. His recent New York credits include Theresa Rebeck's Poor Behaviorand Donald Margulies's The Model Apartment (both at Primary Stages) as well as Daniel Pearle's A Kid Like Jake (at Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3).

Helen is a celebrated playwright of both original and adapted works. Her original plays includeMother Teresa is Dead, The Clearing, and The Heresy of Love, and her adaptations include Coram Boy, War and Peace, and Mill on the Floss. Helen's work has been performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company and at the Royal Court and the National Theatre, among many others.

I am so excited to bring Helen's adaption of Thérèse Raquin to the Roundabout stage with the exceptional talent of Evan Cabnet and Keira Knightley. I know this will be a fantastic collaboration.
