Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Artistic Director) presents Scratch Night at TNC (Michael Scott-Price, Curator) Monday, November 2nd at 7pm, $5 Suggested Donation.

This work-in-progress presentation of MOTHER MAGGIE is written and directed by Claire Zajdel Maggie Quirke feels called to be a Catholic priest. Unfortunately, it's forbidden. Despite her knowledge of this, Maggie implores her campus chaplain Fr. Benjamin to write her a recommendation. In the process, Maggie finds out that Fr. Benjamin may have some desires he is forbidden from pursuing.

The part of Maggie will be read by Stephanie Salgado.The part of Fr. Benjamin will be read by Caleb Wells.

Playwright/Director: Claire Zajdel BioClaire is a young writer trying to follow her vocation. She is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing program. During her years at NYU she co-founded The Backstage Theatre Company and begin directing theatre. Mother Maggie was recently read as a selection at the New York New Works Festival. She also recently wrote and directed the short film Again.

FUTURE Scratch and New City, New Blood: 2015/2016 Scratch Night at TNC and New City, New Blood Reading Series development season will begin in November 2015. The selection process is ongoing.
