The Studio Shop (http://www.thestudioshop.com/) is proud to announce a new art exhibition by Melinda Cootstona, one of Silicon Valley's most pre-eminent artists. Melinda Cootsona focuses on abstract and figurative work, often combining elements of both. The artist draws inspiration from the Bay Area Figurative Movement of Richard Diebenkorn and David Park, vibrant and saturated with a keen sense of light.

"We are very excited about Melinda's upcoming art exhibition scheduled for September 12th to the 28th at our studio," explained Kristin Bensen, director of the Studio Shop. "Many people are looking for intimate art experiences in the Bay Area such as the very popular 'art walks' like San Francisco's First Thursday Art walk or Oakland's Art Murmur. Melinda's exhibition has two wonderful experiences that provide an intimate experience: an opening reception by the artist on September 12th at 6 pm and an artist talk on September 19th at 6 pm."

More on 'Sense of Place,' an art exhibition by Melinda Cootsona

Having painted for over 25 years, Melinda Cootsona focuses on abstract and figurative work, often combining elements of both. The artist draws inspiration from the Bay Area Figurative Movement of Richard Diebenkorn and David Park, vibrant and saturated with a keen sense of light. The unifying element in her paintings is a strong sense of color and composition. Using thick paint, Cootsona strives to convey mystery of place and human moments.
