The New Victory Theater Announces 2012 Kids Weeks

By: Jan. 18, 2012

New Vic Studio has announced Kids Weeks, two-week or week-long programs in circus, theater or playwriting for young people between the ages of 7 and 14. Kids Weeks are taught by New Victory Teaching Artists, a professional ensemble of circus and movement performers (“Sesame Street,” Big Apple Circus), actors and dancers (Steppenwolf, Dan space Project and Ohio Theater) and directors and playwrights (Naked Angels, Partial Comfort Productions).

Circus Kids Weeks
After a week of juggling, clowning and theater games, kids get a chance to show off their newfound skills to friends and family during a live performance. For ages 7-11.

Theater Kids Weeks
Kids discover all aspects of play production – from improvisation and rehearsal to designing and acting – while exploring a variety of theatrical forms, including dance, physical theater, puppetry and traditional theater. The experience culminates in a showcase for friends and family. For ages 7 – 11.

Playwriting Kids Weeks
Kids develop their own artistic voice as they write, revise and rehearse their writing in collaboration with peers and professional artists using an assortment of improvisational, creative writing and performance methods. The experience culminates in a reading for friends and family. For ages 11 – 14.
