The Black & White Blues, the New Orleans Restaurant Musical direct from its 3rd year in The Big Easy, is set to serve it up in The Big Apple in the 2005-2006 season at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at West Bank Café (407 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). The show will open on Saturday, March 25th.

"This southern-flavored musical revue is a hilarious look at the trials and tribulations of waiters, waitresses and the customers they serve," state press notes.

The show "sets four waiters singing and dancing their way through bitchy customers, conquering the waiter lingo, working under the watchful eye of "management" and having visions of The Fairy God-waitress, complete with big hair, magic wand and order pad. With song titles like 'The Cocktail Conga' and 'Four Course Nightmare,' celebrity chef impersonations of Emeril Lagasse, Martha Stewart, and an angelic Julia Child dueling in 'Cookin' On TV,' and the showstopper 'Pork Sushi,' about raw pork wrapped in seaweed – this campy, outrageous hit has it all!," according to press notes.

The show features book and lyrics by Ricky Graham, and music by Harry Mayronne, as well as cast members from New Orleans. Due to Hurricane Katrina, which hit on August 29th 2005, the show was almost destroyed. Most cast members had to flee the state while New Orleans was under water. In a ray of hope, the New York production will help offset the losses caused by Katrina by employing New Orleans residents while bringing the flavor of one of the most culturally rich cities in America to a national and international audience.

The Black & White Blues is directed by Ricky Graham and Heidi P. Junius, and features Heidi P. Junius, Jessie Terrebonne, Chris Wecklein, and Bob Edes Jr., all from the original production. Junius will also provide musical staging and choreography, while musical director Mayronne returns to the show to perform in NYC.

The show is produced in New York by Martian Entertainment, Loeber Entertainment and Some People.

Performances are Wednesdays and Thursdays evenings at 8pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 11pm. The show runs 90 minutes with one ten-minute intermission. Tickets, which are $45 for all seats/all performances, are available at TicketCentral.com, by phone at 212-279-4200 or at the Ticket Central Box Office at 416 West 42nd Street.
