Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU)'s Young Patrons and Artists Circle announces theFirst Annual Fall Fundraiser and Cocktail Party tonight, September 10, 2014 from 7-11pm at Pera SoHo, 54 Thompson Street, NYC. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) Young Patrons and Artists Circle (YPAC) - YPAC stands for the Young Patrons and Artists Circle, a group of theater professionals and patrons under the age of 40. YPAC is a program of TRU, dedicated to providing peer networking and career development opportunities to rising professionals. Part of the group's ongoing mission is to increase diversity in the arts.TRU was formed to promote a spirit of cooperation and support within the general theater community by providing information and a variety of entertainment-related services and resources that strengthen the capacity of producing organizations, individual producers, self-producing artists and other theater professionals.TRU achieves its mission through 1) maintenance of a member network of producers and other industry professionals in the New York area, 2) linking members to valuable resources both within and beyond the theatrical community, 3) providing public forums for introducing and sharing information, including specific requests for help and support, 4) publishing a printed and electronic newsletter for services, discount offers and other programs of benefit to the membership, 5) providing educational opportunities (including TRU-sponsored events and competitive scholarships) on industry-related topics and training, and 6) serving as producer for selected events that provide practical opportunities to the membership and other theater professionals. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) is a twenty-one year old 501c3 nonprofit organization created to help producers produce, emerging theater companies to emerge healthily and all theater professionals to understand and navigate the business of theater. Membership includes self-producing artists as well as career producers and theater companies.

TRU publishes an email community newsletter of services, goods and productions; presents the TRU VOICES Annual New Play Reading Series and Annual New Musicals Reading Series, two new works series in which TRU underwrites developmental readings to nurture new shows as well as new producers for theater; TRU offers a Producer Development & Mentorship Program whose mentors are among the most prominent producers and general managers in New York Theater, and also presents Producer Boot Camp workshops to help aspirants develop the business skills they need.
