TITANIC: THE MUSICAL Will Come to Greenville Theatre in September

Greenville Theatre will present Titanic: The Musical, the Tony Award-winning musical by Maury Yeston and Peter Stone, Sept. 11-27 in Greenville, South Carolina. The production will be performed at Greenville Theatre, with performances scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays on Sept. 17 and 24, and 3 p.m. Sundays.

Titanic: The Musical features music and lyrics by Yeston and a book by Stone. The musical follows the passengers and crew aboard the RMS Titanic during its maiden voyage, focusing on the individual stories, relationships and ambitions of those aboard the ship. The stage musical is separate from James Cameron's 1997 film adaptation and is based on historical accounts of the Titanic's 1912 voyage. Greenville Theatre has rated the production PG-13 for mature themes.

The production is scheduled for 11 performances, beginning Friday, Sept. 11, followed by performances Sept. 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27. Performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays begin at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday performances begin at 3 p.m.

Greenville Theatre has not yet published the production's principal cast on its official event page. The production credits include Yeston as composer and lyricist and Stone as book writer.

Tickets are priced at $45. Public sales for Titanic: The Musical are scheduled to begin Tuesday, Aug. 25. Donors and subscribers have earlier access, with subscribers able to reserve seats beginning Aug. 18. Tickets are available through Greenville Theatre's official website and box office at 444 College St. in Greenville.
