TIMESTALKS to Continue This Spring With John Cusack, Alanis Morrisette and More

In the coming weeks, some of the brightest names in film, television, literature and popular music will sit down with New York Times journalists for TimesTalks events at TheTimesCenter, 242 West 41st Street, New York City.

Participants include Golden Globe-Emmy- and SAG award-winning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus; award-winning actor-writer-producer John Cusack; internationally acclaimed authors Martin Amis, Margaret Atwood, and E.L. Doctorow; Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy award winning director Mike Nichols; and multiple Grammy Award winning singer Alanis Morissette.

A CONVERSATION WITH Julia Louis-Dreyfus
The Golden Globe-, Emmy- and SAG award-winning actress—best-known as Elaine on “Seinfeld” and Christine on “The New Adventures of Old Christine” – is now the new Vice President of the United States in the HBO series “Veep,” premiering April 22. Hear her talk with New York Times television reporter Bill Carter about her career and the new series, which she is also producing. Tickets are $30 plus a service fee.

TUESDAY, APRIL 17, 6:30 - 8PM
A CONVERSATION WITH JOHN CUSACK
The award-winning actor-writer-producer talks about challenging roles and writing and producing films, with New York Times culture reporter Dave Itzkoff. In his latest performance, the filmmaker brings to life Edgar Allan Poe, great American author of the macabre, in “The Raven,” the new gothic thriller. Tickets are $30 plus a service fee.

Don’t miss these internationally acclaimed authors in conversation with A.O. Scott of The New York Times: Martin Amis (“The Pregnant Widow” and the upcoming “Lionel Asbo: The Sate of England”), Margaret Atwood (“The Blind Assassin,” “The Year of the Flood”) and E.L. Doctorow (“Ragtime,” “Homer & Langley”). Their original essays about literature and world affairs will appear in the New York Times Sunday Review the same week. Hear Mike Nichols—one of very few people ever to score the grand slam of major American entertainment awards, an Oscar, four Emmys, eight Tonys and a Grammy—talk about directing his current Broadway play, Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” and his career on stage and screen. Mr. Nichols directed, among others, the Broadway plays “Barefoot in the Park,” “The Odd Couple,” “The Real Thing” and “Spamalot”; the award-winning TV series “Angels in America”; and some of the most iconic films in American cinema, including “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” “The Graduate,” “Catch 22,” “Carnal Knowledge” and “Silkwood.” Tickets are $35 plus a service fee.
