The Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of MASTER CLASS by Terrence McNally, directed by Stephen Wadsworth, began previews on Tuesday, June 14 and will open Thursday, July 7 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The show stars Sierra Boggess, Clinton Brandhagen, Jeremy Cohen, Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly, Drama Desk Award winner Alexandra Silber, and Garrett Sorenson. Daniel Radcliffe was recently honored by The Trevor Project with the Trevor Hero Award during "Trevor LIVE" at Capitale, presented by ING. The annual show benefits the life-saving work of The Trevor Project and also honored Ernst & Young LLP with the Trevor 2020 Award. This high-profile event has honored actors and comedians including Kathy Griffin, Neil Patrick Harris and Vanessa Williams and corporate trailblazers such as Levi Strauss & Co., Wells Fargo Bank and CNN for their support of LGBTQ youth. Hugh Jackman, Larry Kramer

Lieutenant Dan Choi, the war veteran who was discharged from the Army under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," was recently welcomed at The Normal Heart  by Normal Heart playwright Larry Kramer and New York State Senator Tom Duane, who was Senate sponsor of the recently passed New York Marriage Equality bill. The stars of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN celebrated their cast album release at Barnes & Noble with an in-store performance and CD signing. On hand for the event were Aaron Tveit, 2011 Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz, Kerry Butler, Rachel de Benedet, Nick Wyman, Linda Hart and CATCH ME creators Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. FOR THE RECORD: John Hughes, a concert celebrating the soundtrack that defined a generation, made its New York City debut at City Winery on June 27th. The show featured music and moments from The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, Home Alone, Vacation, Plains Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck and more. Sam Rockwell, Jessica Hecht and Ana Reeder lead A Streetcar Named Desire at Williamstown Theatre Festival, which began performances on June 22 and runs through July 3. The production also features Michael Bradley Cohen, Esteben Andres Cruz, Jennifer Engstrom, Vella Lovell, Crystal Lucas-Perry, Emily Simoness, Daniel Stewart Sherman, Lou Sumrall, and Kirby Ward. ABC will soon feature Broadway favorite Kristin Chenoweth in a new series entitled 'Good Christian Belles.' The show focuses on Amanda Vaughn, who twenty years ago was the queen bee of Highland Park Texas, but now she's got to pay for her sins. After her husband gets busted for a Ponzi scheme and then dies in sensationalized circumstances, Amanda has to return to Dallas in disgrace and start her life again. On June 29, Cirque du Soleil opened its major new acrobatic spectacle, Zarkana, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Performances began Thursday, June 9, 2011 for a limited engagement through October 8, 2011. Zarkana is an acrobatic rock opera that blends circus arts with the surreal to create a world where physical virtuosity rubs shoulders with the strange.
