Are you are craving humor and light-heartedness? Then treat yourself to an evening at Electric City Playhouse as we proudly present Neil Simon's THE ODD COUPLE. Directed by Jonathan Houston, performances will be offered April 24, 25, 30, May 1, 2 at 8 p.m. and April 26 at 3 p.m.

Almost everyone has seen a version of THE ODD COUPLE, whether it was the Broadway play, the movie or the television series. You know the one - Felix, a clean freak news writer is thrown out by his wife, and moves in with Oscar, a slovenly sportswriter? Simon was inspired to write the play when he saw his brother Danny and theatrical agent Roy Gerber living together after recent divorces. The show ran 966 performances and won several Tony Awards, including Best Play.

Upon entering the theatre you will be transported back to a 1960's New York City apartment by the elaborate eight room set designed by Craig Johnson, and then created by Craig and his assistant Randy Deitsch. This classic comedy opens as the group of guys assembles to play cards in the apartment of Oscar Madison (played by Peter Summers) who is separated from his wife and is a complete slob. Late to arrive is Felix Unger (Virgil Hobbs), a fastidiously clean neurotic. Joining the chaos are their poker buddies Speed (Michael Freidman), Murray (Mike Walsh), Roy (Josh Collins) and Vinnie (Paul Hyde). The guys are so fearful that Felix might try to commit suicide they lock the windows and scarcely allow him to go to the bathroom alone! Then there are the Pigeon sisters, Gwendolyn and Cecily (Paula Doolittle & Chrys Hatcher), who live in the same building and add a bit of innuendo to the show.
As the action unfolds, Felix and Oscar decide to room together with hilarious results, and so "THE ODD COUPLE was born!"
