A tribute concert to one of America's greatest songwriters!

Iconic Golden Age songwriter Irving Berlin will be feted in a new tribute concert tonight at Molloy College that will feature original SWEENEY TODD Broadway star Sarah Rice along with TV's Catwoman from BATMAN, Lee Meriwether, and more.

The official description of THE MELODY LINGERS ON: THE SONGS OF IRVING BERLIN is as follows: "Featuring: Lee Meriwether, Frank Basile, and more Broadway Stars! The Melody Lingers On is a celebration of the musical genius of Irving Berlin. In a life that spanned more than 100 years, and with a creative output of over 1,000 songs, Irving Berlin epitomized Jerome Kern's famous adage that 'Irving Berlin has no place in American music. He is American music.' Over a period of five decades, Berlin's songs defined American popular music. This revue will increasingly exhilarate the audience with the discovery of each new song. From Tin Pan Alley to Broadway, from Hollywood to tours of duty throughout Europe and the Pacific, the story of Irving Berlin is the story of this American century. Featuring: Frank Basile, Richard Halpern, Judi Mark, Lee Meriwether and more. July 25, 2015 at 8PM."

Sarah Rice appeared on Broadway in the original cast of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET following her debut performance in THE FANTASTICKS Off-Broadway. Additionally, Rice appeared in the national tour of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and made numerous Off-Broadway and regional appearances, including THE ENCHANTRESS, LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE and more.

Lee Meriwether is known around the world for iconic portrayal of Catwoman on the classic 1960s TV series BATMAN in addition to receiving several Golden Globe nominations for her work on BARNABY JONES in the 1970s during her eight-year run in the hit series. She is also noted for her numerous appearances on game shows including MATCH GAME and CIRCUS OF THE STARS, as well. Most recently, she has made guest appearances on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, HAWAII FIVE-0, THE LEAGUE and more.
